I work in a library in upstate New York, and our new director has discarded our entire collection of Nat Geos. We have a complete set from 1909 to 1988, with everything nicely bound except for the early 1920s. Although we wouldn’t turn away a donation, we aren’t asking for money (despite the binding costs over the years), but we wouldn’t ship them for free either, and the books are heavy. Any takers?
(If anyone has info about how valuable the older books are, as in, “you are crazy to give such away”, let me know that too!) We also do have loose magazines 1999-2021.

This might assist you. It's aging - but still appropriate (i.e., not much has changed in the last five years):
A Guide to Selling National Geographic Magazines (Revised 19 Januar...
I realize you posted this 3 months ago, but if any of these earlier editions are still available, I would be interested in coming by to pick them up. I have my own inherited collection that I have added to over the years, so I would be interested in the pre-1920 volumes. I’m not interested in obtaining them to resell them (if that makes any difference), I’m just a history buff and former archivist with a love of the photos and adventures that each issue contained.
Kathy, I hope you get a response. I am thrilled to read of your love and appreciation of information and history!

Kathy,
Please forgive my extreme delay in responding. The new director who was getting rid of these - and books - and audiobooks - and papers - and who had used as "decoration" during one lunch but then put aside the 1911-19 books, quit, and we needed to find a replacement, and my sister (a National Geographic Teacher of Year award recipient) died - it's been a year. Anyway, we still have yet to find the batch from 1911-1919... either she threw them out too, or took them, or they are still somewhere in the upheaval of new/interim/new directors.... Now, ironically, I myself do still have the two very oldest, 1909 and 1910, but given that they would be the most valuable of all we had, I have been completely indecisive about whether to say "come get them" or instead to try to sell them for the library.... we did have someone who purchased the post-1920 bound volumes...
Still indecisive, (and still looking for the pre-1920s),
Bibi
