National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

Hi,

My grandfather has complete sets of National Geographics from 1963 until now, he is missing 1 from 1971, 2 from 2000, and 1 from 1979. My BIG question is what do I do with them. He really wants to throw them out, but I thought someone may be interested in some if not all.

Searching for some assistance with what and who would want them.

Thanks for any advice anyone can possibly give.

I might be interested in the issues from 1963 to and including 1981. What are the conditions and are any of them in the yearly national geographic leather cases? I have complete issues from 1982 to present, and I am looking to build on what I have.

Thanks
Frank,

It may be "jumping around" a bit, but I have a VERY nice set of 1959 - 12 issues. This was the year the Society commenced with cover illustrations, so it is a neat point in the Magazine's history. Check out this link:

I also have some other miscellaneous issues, and a full year 1945, w/ 2 maps, and some assorted issues from the 1920's and 'Teens.

No, no yearly national geographic leather cases. I can take pictures to post so you can see the condition of the magazines. Does that work for you? I will get pics up by tomorrow evening.
