National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

I was wondering if the members of this community could provide me some guidance.

My Grandmother-in-law recently passed away and left behind a very significant National Geographic collection. From what I can tell, she has every National Geographic from approx 1910-1940 - I need to go through all of them to be 100% sure. They aren't in the 'best' condition, as my father-in-law and his brothers often looked through them, but she did store them in plastic for the last 50+ years.

I have a few questions:

1. I noticed on Ebay pricing for these editions and it seems to avg around $15-20 per issue. Is that the suggested way of selling these?
2. Is Ebay the best way to sell these items?
3. Any tips or helpful suggestions for selling these?

The family does not want to store the magazines anymore and is looking to add the sales of the magazines to the estate account that was established when our grandmother passed.

Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated.

Have you sold the 1910-1925 sets?
No, I have not - we have yet to inventory and photograph the whole collection, but will be doing so after the holidays.

Hi Calisuri!

Is your collection still available?  Where are you located?  I'm in Bancroft, Ontario, Canada.
