Map Of Alaska R. U. Goode Geographer . . National Geographic Societ...
The Heading clearly has 1904 printed on it. Yet, down in the lower right margin It shows National Geographic Society ... June 1905.
Now there was published in Jan 1904, a map supplement titled, "Map Showing Award of Alaskan Boundary Tribunal."
This listing is NOT that supplement.
Is this just an off-the-wall NGS publication?

A bonus printing in 1905 for a government department perhaps....or a foreign or domestic dignitary(-ies) ?

In Nathan's guide, on the bottom of page 33, he lists for 1904 both January Alaska Boundary Tribunal 12" x 12 3/4" and May Alaska 36" x 42". Could it be that second map?

I would think not, due to the June 1905 label in the bottom right margin. However, the NGS does not have a perfect score on getting the correct dates on publications. And then there's the 1904 in the Legend box...

It looks the same to me. (^_^)

The June 1905 label has me stymied as well. Maybe, like Scott said, it was a special reprinting. They used that red lettering on maps that had later printings, like for books. My 1967 map of the historic US has a line like that.

I also double-checked the list of technical publications for 1904-1906, there's no Society book published (or "special report" in 1905 --that I can determine--) either, that might have explained a 1905 'reprinting' . . .
