POSTING AGAIN (FAILURE 1ST TIME): free nat-geogrx, hoping u can pay part of shipping (Nova Scotia)

Mum passed away last month, and I am anxious to find a good home

for our National Geographics.

I do not want money for these magazines, but I do want to avoid their being tossed into landfill or

being in some other way badly treated. They are a happy relic of my boyhood.

I am proposing to give the National Geographics away free to a good home. I am hoping that whatever person(s) may be taking up this offer will be prepared to pay at least a part of the shipping expense. Something here will depend on the level of affluence or poverty of the person(s) taking up this offer. If you are quite poor, and can gently and cogently plead the merits of your case over the phone, then I may be able to meet the full cost of shipping to you.

I am in Mum's old apartment, at 62 Willow Street (apt 223), Truro, Nova Scotia, Canada B2N 4Z6, until the mid-day train of 2011-07-31 (SUN). It would be advisable to decide on the disposition of the magazines by 2011-07-25 (MON). Best would be someone who is willing to take the WHOLE collection, and perhaps in turn to find good homes for, or even to sell, whatever numbers in the collection he or she judges to be superfluous to his or her requirements. But even an offer to take quite a LARGE PART of the collection would be welcome.

Since my Internet connection at my late Mum's place here in Nova Scotia is rather poor, it is best to discuss this offer by phoning me directly. The preferred phone, a shirtpocket cellular which has voicemail, is 647-267-9566. Phone calls can be made on any day but Sunday, at any times between 08:00 EDT and 20:30 EDT.

A backup phone number, without voicemail, is my late Mum's landline, 902-897-0236.

As an appendix to this mail, I attach a text file giving a full description of the collection.

The collection has a few complete years from the 1960s, and various numbers from the

1930s-1940s (sporadically), the 1950s,  the 1960s, and the 1970s-1980s-1990s (sporadically). There is one number from 1918, in poor condition.

Sincerely,

Toomas (Tom) Karmo
