Does This Cover Look Familiar?
This is the cover to the July/August 2021 Skeptical Inquirer. It's a real case of deja vu.
Now here is the cover to the June 2018 National Geographic. The similarity between the two is uncanny, I dare say beyond coincidence.
The Skeptical Inquirer cover photograph is credited to chaiyapruek on Adobe Stock and edited by Alexander Nicaise, while the National Geographic cover photo illustration is credited to Jorge Gamboa. While the drawling are not the same, they are so similar that I personally feel the Society was ripped off. But, then again, imitation is the greatest form of flattery, I guess.
I agree! I wonder if NGP LLC can claim copyright infringement . . .
Actually though, I feel like the Skeptical Inquirer cover may be the better image, as the bag looks much more organically like a real ice berg.
