1914-1986 complete collection value?

an individual donated a complete nat geo magazine collection to our organization for fundraising purposes.

 

It is allegedly a complete collection from years 1914-1986 and it good condition. Can anyone help me with an estimated value of such a collection?

Hi John,

Is your collection in bound volumes(usually covering 6 months per volume) or is it in individual issues? Bound volumes have much less value because covers and ads have been removed. The following values from this site are for individual issues that are in at least very good condition:

1910's - $28 each {this beginning value for the decade edged up $3 in 2013} (with war years sometimes asking more)

1920's - $13 each {this beginning value for the decade edged down $2 in 2013}

1930's - $10 each

1940's - $7.50 each (with war years sometimes asking more)

1950's - $5.00 each

1960's - $2.00 each

1970's - $.50 each

1980's to the present- little or no value

All theses values are based on E-Bay internet sales. I hope this information helps you in selling your collection.

Thanks for your help, Philip! I will try to get more information on the collection and hopefully it will be worth the effort of boxing and moving it!
