Hi,
Fan of astronomy, if my memory is correct, when I was kid the National Geographic magazine published between say 1970 or more probably 1974 and maybe 1980 some advertisings for Celestron telescopes.
I am unable to find the possible issue(s) in my collection but I have only those related to astronomy or astronatics, up to 3 per year so I miss many issues.
If you have time, could you check those old issues and if you find it tell me in what issue Celestron published its first ads (all the list of concerned issues 'd welcome) ?
You can contact mle viua this site or posting a message on my web
Thanks in advance
Thierry

Here are the only ads I could find:
Dec 1968 - Celestron 16
Feb 1969 - Celestron Observatory
Dec 1970 - Celestron 8"
Hope this helps!

Many thanks for these pics and links.
Nobody had found similar ads after dec 1970 ? I had the feeling that I saw at least one in the mid or late 70s.
If there is no more after these, that means that Celestron has much imprinted my memory when I was 10 ;-)
Thanks for these data. They are very useful.
I searched the entire available digital database from October 1888 through Dec 2012. Those three ads were all that came up in the search.
