Hi everyone,
Could you help me to identify an original vol 1 no 1 from a reprint? The issue I have has the classic chestnut/brick color paper cover. It is not written ''Reprint'' on the front. The paper of the inside magazine is glossy type (which makes me doubt it's an original copy!). Thanks in advance for your advice

Hello Genevieve,
Might you have any scans and/or photos? It's hard to answer your question . . . yet.

Hi Scott,
Sorry for the delay, I was away from home for a few days. Unfortunately, I just found out that the issue I have is not an original. Thanks though for your reply to my question!
Best regards,
Gen
What are the dimensions of your Vol. 1 Number 1?
Gen,
The question Richard asked is important. The original "Red Brick" issues were smaller than the 1965/1974 reprints.
The originals were about 6 x 9 1/2 inches (roughly 15 x 24 cm).
The reprints were 7 x 10 inches (roughly 18 x 26 cm), or the same size as current issues.
Yours in collecting,
Tom Wilson
Hi Richard and Tom,
Thanks for your replies! The information you gave me confirms that the issue I have is definitively not an orinigal (unfortunately). Thanks again for your help!
Best regards,
Gen
The reprints have good value.
Hello George,
I am thinking to sell my NG Vol.I No.I reprint magazine. It is in excellent condition. All the maps are in it. Could you be interested? If it is the case, you can contact me on my email:

Thanks

If there is a "75" on the inside back cover, the reprint was made in 1975 and 10,000 unbound copies were printed. If the inside back cover is completely blank, the reprint was made in 1964 and 1,000 unbound copies were printed. The value of the 1975 reprint is less that that of the 1964 reprint.
Hi Richard,
Thank you for letting me know the distinction between these two categories of reprint. I looked and yes, there is a tiny 75 on the inside back cover. The copy I have is then a more common one...
