I have a presentation wall map cabinet, c. 1970, made by the National Geographic Society that I would like to sell. The front is fitted with a framed wildlife print by Leon Danchin, the interior fitted with 19 spring-loaded roll maps of the world.
This map cabinet was purchased out of an estate in Ann Arbor, MI but whether or not the individuals of this estate were the original recipients is unknown. I am able to provide the names of the previous owners on request.
The front of the interior panel is cork with a mounted print by Leon Danchin (French, 1887-1938) of a green winged teal duck that is artist signed and numbered in the lower-left corner. On the upper left of the print it says Copyright By Leon Danchin Bergues Nord. The art measures 14" x 21 3/4". The inside of the front panel is a large piece of mat board.
The map cabinet is mounted directly to the wall with screws through each corner of the back panel. les
I have this map cabinet listed elsewhere for sale as well but wanted to post it here since it is such a special piece. Please let me know if you have any questions or are interested.
Thank you to the members of this forum who helped provide additional information and details about the case. Your help and collective knowledge was greatly appreicated.

Richard - very sorry I have only just now seen your message. I've just emailed you with my contact details if you are still interested. The map cabinet is still available. Apologies for the very late reply.
Hello, is this still for sale?
Thank you
Yes, the cabinet is still for sale. I have additional photos of the maps which I will post.

Hoping that a map cabinet lover will want to take this off my hands before I move this summer....
I would be happy to sell it for what I paid, if the buyer could arrange for collection or transportation. I bought it for $600.
Please let me know if anyone is interested in the next couple of months. I need to rehome it by July.
I am still looking for a new home for this piece if any collectors are interested. A really unique piece, that I can't hang. Pleases email me if you would like more information. lesliesakuta@hotmail.com
