National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

Hi

Just a question on whether my dad is correct when he states that his National Geo collection is not worth anything. He has the entire collection from the first issue through to the latest. I am in the process of moving my parents to a smaller house and there will not be room to store the whole collection. Would there be any purpose to putting the collection up for sale or should we break it into smaller sections?

Thanks for a harangued son

There is value in that. A lot actually. If you have issues from the very first then you are a very rich man. ( http://www.dtmagazine.com/cmopg1924/natgeo2.html) that link is a sort of value guide for magazines from 1888-1919. You will see that there is value in those magazines. If you still want to sell them let us know. Because I am more than sure that there are many of us willing to buy them. Good Luck
Dear Charles

my mobile is 0039.339.2212310
Dear Charles
I am a French citizen. The collection is in Paris so it is easy to send anywhere in Italy or anywhere in Europe.
I have the complete NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE issues from 1929 to 1992 (63 years=756 issues). Not a single issue is missing. I bought them for my daughter when she wass tudying at Boston university.
The issues 1929-1962 are leather binded per 6 month issues (2 bindings every year).
The issues 1963-1992 are your usual presentation (yellow frame on the cover)
I am sorry but I cannot separate to sell pieces separately because the value of this collection is that it is complete, which is also valuable for you.

I am willing to sell this unique collection which is in perfect condition.
If interested, please give me a rough estimation of what you can pay
Awaiting your comments (but PLEASE let's communicate by email which is easier than on NGM site. My email is:    wawalexis@aol.com )
