Organization of this site...

Posted on January 29, 2008 at 3:31pm 9 Comments

I've noticed many people posting to forums (left sidebar and tab) rather than the blog (center of home page). When we originally set up this new site, we thought the blog would be used more frequently by our collectors who wanted to buy, sell, general information, etc. about NG products and publications. The forums area was set up as a way to host more in-depth discussions around a particular topic (e.g., Preservation of NG Products and Publications). So, let me know how you would like us to… Continue

We have created this new space for our collectors. This site replaces our old Bulletin Board site that will be shut down on nationalgeographic.com at the end of the year. We hope you enjoy this new feature and appreciate any feedback.

Greetings and Good Morning Karen,
To date I have been totally unsuccessfull in uploading photos to site. Cannot post, paste etc my pic on my page and cannot upload files containing NG material.
May I ask for instructions.Specifically how did you do that? Seems I may not be the only 1.Most likely a result of my lack of IT knowledge. :)
Respectfully,
Andy Johnson

Thank You....I was begining to feel IT inferior :)
Any way to post a link or infor as to what the NGS mags are still available to be purchased from NGS or what issue's are out of print and no longer available from NGS.
Respectfully,
AJ

Hi Karen,

you mention that you like wolves and dogs...so you must have particularly enjoyed the "From Wolf to Woof" article of January 2002? My family and I are huge dog lovers. Do you have the "Book of Dogs" also"?

Yes -- have a large poster-like picture in my office from that article "From Wolf to Woof" as well as one from a wolf story NGS did in the 1980s of an Arctic wolf. Also have the "Book of Dogs."

I just found this group. I like it! I have an extensive collection of National Geographic magazines, books and epheremia, including an original, unbound copy of Vol. 1, No. 1 from 1888. It literally have boxes of the stuff including 8mm flims, vinyl records, school bulletins from the 50-60s. I even started a website for NG collectors about 10 years ago that was shut down by the NG legal department :)

I am currently on a trip around the world so I can't collect at the moment, but I will be sure to return.

Hi Karen,

Have you ever seen a misprinted cover like this one? I put it on the discussion corner, but thought I would ask you as well.

Thanks for the info,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Karen forwarded your message to me. I will take a look at our archives file and see if there is any information about a misprint.

Best wishes,

Cathy Hunter
