"As for the "Food" topic cover, I have to say I really really disliked our version. I saw much better representations of the Food theme on other foreign NGM's.
Note I didn't like it from a design/aesthetic p.o.v., nor did…"
"Abramo, this is again an interesting view of how NGM covers are presented abroad. Do you have this Croatian edition specifically? If you search past discussions here on the 'Corner you'll find a then-ongoing thread with a number of us…"
"Oh ~ you know what . . .
I just remembered something else:
On a handful of occasions, GHG would insert (a la these photos in Oct. 1914) unused-but-printed sheafs of aborted material. Similar to how they were still using up miscellaneous…"
Funny, I was just re-pondering this briefly the other day . . . e.g., that sometimes a group of photos would appear 'wedged in' a 1910's issue of NGM that seemingly were random, or in the least not apparently connected w/…"
I just got it. As we suspected, it is not hardcover. Also, it is 32 pages, not 1,200 which makes a lot more sense. I'd like to thank you again for pointing me in the right direction. You said that you hadn't…"
unoffical occupation: since 2009 I've been care-giving for 3 of my quite ailing Grandparents...as a live-in helper (in every way conceivable).
Life Member of The National Geographic Society. I became very interested in the Society itself during the 1988 year when I was but 10. Became a proud member myself for my 12th birthday, January 1990. At last I didn't have to wait for my Grandparents to be done with their issues and give them to me : )

Sounds great Scott,
I always enjoy talking with NG collectors & hearing about their experiences. I'm retired and available to chat quite often. I've been a NG member & collector since 1978. Hope to chat soon.
I actually just discovered this website a few weeks ago. It's very cool - I don't really have any particular interests in NG. I've been a fan my whole life, my Dad has an extensive collection and now I'm working on mine.
I haven't been on the site for a few weeks, went to the Custer WI Renewable Energy Fair on Friday. Many plans will be in the following months & years and will try to make an imact with alternatives. For Geographics, it will take a while to sort everything out and start with major projects.
