National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

In 1992, the NGS printed their last pair of Per Volume indexes for the NGM.  Starting in 1993 they began issuing annual indexes of ALL their publications instead.  These lasted for 18 years with 2010 being the last.  At that time it was announced that no more annual indexes would be printed and a recommendation was made to use on-line indexes instead.

I have found it more difficult to find the newest of these than to find the oldest of the per volume indexes.  Up to now I still need two: 2007 and 2009.  This has been the case since early March when Jim Smyth and I had a mutually beneficial trade.

This situation changed on Sunday when I found a 2007 Annual Index on Amazon.com.  I just received it in the mail today.  [image attached].  This leaves just one to go.

Now I am not one to believe in coincidences but Jim Smyth sent his message to all the members of our group on Tuesday, while my latest addition was in transit.

I checked Amazon and they still have this item available.  The dealer must have multiple copies in stock.  I tried sending Jim a message regarding this but am not sure it got through to him.  Anyway...

Jim,

If you search Amazon.com for "National Geographic index 2007" you will find it.  Price is $1.00 with $3.99 postage and handling.  (Note: It might cost more for shipment to Canada.)  Also, the dealer has several other annul indexes so, if you want to upgrade some of your photocopies, you may be able to do it.

If for some reason you can't get this index, I will be happy to photocopy it and mail it to you.

Sadly, 2010 was also the last year that the last page of the December (2010) issue had the "year in review" w/ topics, ,supplements, and all 12 annual covers.
