A Nat Geo Ad in the Movies

In the 2018 action war movie "12 Strong" an advertisement in a National Geographic Magazine is displayed.  The soldier reading the magazine shows the ad to a fellow soldier while saying, "Hey look, Michael, it's you!".

He is shown reading the May 1993 issue of our magazine both immediately before this scene and immediately after it.

Here is the problem.  This advertisement does not appear in this issue.  It does not appear in the December 1999 issue either.  The same soldier was shown reading that issue earlier in the movie.

I do not know the issue in which this advertisement actually appears, or even if it is a true Nat Geo advertisement.  If it is from a National Geographic it probably from the 1990's.  If anyone recognizes this advertisement, I would love to know from which issue this ad comes.
