please help
have a series of 18 hardback books and know nothing about them. I have attached a couple of pictures. I have searched these books for a publication date but I cannot find anything.

This appears to be a complete set of National Geographic Society 1964 published reprints of the first 18 volumes of the National Geographic Magazine.
The simplest way to confirm this is to simply look on "any" front cover within "any" bound volume and look about 1 inch from the bottom edge of the cover and centered left to right. You should see the very small word in all caps "REPRINT."
Your next order of business is to confirm all the issued supplements are present.
If you find this to be the case, this complete set of bound reprints should sell somewhere in the vicinity of $1500 on eBay.
A word of caution - you never know how an auction will go. I've seen a set like this go for as little as $900 and as much as $3000. It's all in the timing!

Thanks Melvin. I will look for the REPRINT endorsement. Is there a list to verify all of the supplements in the books?

A few entries down the list on this thread I provide a link to the NGM supplements in the form of a table. I believe Philip also provided a link in the form of a list, which may be easier to follow for the first 18 volumes.
Attached is a link for plates - used only through 1902. Confusing to the uninitiated, the NGS used plate format to identify special charts, photos, supplements and maps that were full page (or larger), but the Society was NOT consistent with this format.
I went to the trouble of developing this list because these plates were often removed from the older magazines and I needed a readily available inventory as a checklist for completeness.

The above link is for all the Maps & supplements. Items numbered 1- 37 in the extreme left of the excel program (or Oct 1889 to July 1907) are the reprint supplements that go with your set of reprints. The maps themselves are usually attached inside the back cover of each volume in a little paper sleeve. Good luck in selling your reprint set..........they are very popular to Nat Geo collectors because the originals are almost impossible to find....

Thanks to both of you for the information. Im sure this will take some time to verify but I'm pretty sure the set I have is 100% with maps and supplements.
