National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

This question may have an obvious answer. But, I wonder why the famed April 1913 "In the wonderland of Peru" is so rare and usually sells pretty high? Is it because of the topic? Or because it has so many pages?

Rob,

Look this over, it'll give you "an" answer to your question:

http://ngscollectors.ning.com/forum/topics/a-guide-to-selling-natio...

Specifically, a little more than half way through the guide you'll find "supplemental data" - that's where you should look...

Enjoy!

Mel

Thanks Mel! This is a great guide you wrote!

Also a follow up question. Is it known how many complete collections of the National Geographic Magazine from 1888 to present are there? I mean these complete sets can include reprints or originals  from the early years. I know Edwin  Buxbaum  combined a list that was in his 1971 edition of his book. But, as of 2016 does anyone know?

I don't...

I thought you have a complete set.
