Is it just me or has anybody else noticed that there is less availability for (say) pre-1950 magazines and maps/supps on ebay?Is this evolution at work?!Continue

A Tale of Two Magazines

Somehow I finished up with 2 copies of December 1919.Neither were particualry good.Both had corners missing fron the front covers.One had no back cover.One had an almost completely destroyed spine.I decieded to repair them both.I copied the spine from the good one to repair the other.Likewise the back cover.Again I used photocopies to repair the missing corners (inside and out).I used Scotch 3M Magic (Invisible) Tape.I would have liked to load more photos but Mr Ning would not let me! "Another option perhaps is to donate to a charitable body such as heartforethopia.org They are a major seller (of National Geographic) on ebay and all for a good cause. They seem to be based in Texas."

"Yes! I haven't been able to buy any quality magazines off of eBay for the past year. That timeframe roughly coincides with the pandemic, but I can't tell if there is causation involved or just incidental correlation between the two."

Hi George, I do still have the NGs 1905 to 1951, but shipping to the UK would be hugely expensive and time-consuming to package up, not to mention the risk of damage from shipping such a long distance. I'd prefer an in person pickup, especially of the older ones so the buyer knows what they're getting.
