"Hello Sir, That's the one. I double checked on the NG webpage and found it after I sent the message. I was also fascinated by the story of the Titanic. I miss many of those old issues, but at least I can read them at NG. There were two issues,…"

About Me: (If none, make no entry):
Began reading National Geographic as a child in 1971. My grandfather brought home some boxes of them from his brother. Some issues went as far back as the 1940's. My grandfather liked the magazine so much that he ordered his own subscription shortly after that and after reading the April 1972 issue (I think that was the issue with a picture of the Titanic sinking) was hooked. For Christmas in 1980, my grandmother bought me a subscription. I have maintained that ever since. All of my issues were gone, many between 1980 and 2001 destroyed in a flood, and the others donated to schools and the VA where I work.
Favorite National Geographic publication: (If none, make no entry):
The magazine.

~ Welcome ~

Nice story you shared, I appreciate your long-held interest in NGM. I'm sorry to hear about the ones lost in a flood.

Though, I believe the issue you are talking about with the picture of the TITANIC sinking was the June 1968 issue, pgs. 792-793 spread, in the article called "Tracking Danger with the Ice Patrol".

(i.e, the International + U.S. Coast Guard Iceberg Patrol)
