Advertising in The National Geographic (Magazine)

~ MENTION THE GEOGRAPHIC -- IT IDENTIFIES YOU ~

A place to discuss and post classic and modern Ads on any product or service found in The National Geographic Magazine, and welcome...

Fellow 'Corner member Philip Riviere suggested that there be an Ads (advertising) Group. As many collector's and others know, the vintage ads found in National Geographic Magazine over the years are classic, and truly a time capsule of days gone by.

It it noteworthy that there is an entire breed of enthusiasts-collectors (often non-Nat Geo 'o-philes) who revere, obtain, and collate NGM ads as a stand-alone hobby. They will buy or take NGM's simply to remove the ads for their general collections of myriad advertising materials.

Especially nostalgic for many --akin to a Norman Rockwell type of sentiment-- are the old Coca-Cola ads, and also in particular the automobile ads for Ford, Packard, GM, Chrysler, etc.

** I'm wondering if this group will also need to be inclusive of advertising topics in general, as pertains to the Society at-large, the Channel(s), as well as more contemporary marketing aspects. **
