...Just some nice books, dvd's, and magazines featuring the amazing Hubble. I posted individual pics of these items in the main photos and My Albums section too.

I'll see you those, and raise you this.  (Yeah, you know what it is.)

I WIN !!!  BWA-HA-HA.

I love the patch, but what is the 1st thing in the scan? I don't recognize it . . .

They are four solar cell from the Hubble Space Telescope.  The observatory has had three different pairs of solar panels during its on-orbit life.  The first were cut off of the telescope and discarded to burnup on reentry.  While the third pair is still working on HST, the second was removed and returned to earth.  One of the two panels can be seen at the Smithsonian.  The other panel was studied for exposure to LEO space.  Pieces were given out to personnel at the Space Telescope Institute in Baltimore.

My best friend's girlfriend (that sounds like a Cars song) worked at the STI as a secretary.  Her boss gave her the solar cells;,and she, in turn, gave them to me.

I know I told you about them before.

Yours in Collecting,

Tom

Tom,

I figured they were some kind of solar cell, but I wasn't going to guess blind. I do not recall specifically that you told me about these, but I do remember you telling me you had something for Hubble.

Yes, I am jealous I want a real live piece of Hubble. Your cells beat my books & dvd's for sure, but the point of my share was to show what Hubble items Nat Geo put out.
