National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

Hello all, after nearly 11 years of life and work keeping me out of the loop, I’ve come back and actually rediscovered this group due to my previous post in January 2009. I had posed a question asking if anyone had any knowledge of loose Albrecht bindings ever showing up, as I wanted to continue the years not currently contained in my collection. Most people said they very rarely come up but a handful mentioned that there was a bindery down in Texas that was able to make them but had to do so in a large quantity. My question is has anyone done any more than research on that bindery? As I mentioned ive been out of the game for a decade so I have no clue what has transpired since my post many moons ago. My collection begins in 1908 and ends in 1981 but the Albrechts stop at 1973. Id love to find out any updates since 2009. Thanks!

I've seen the covers from the bindery in TX in person. They differ slightly but are incredibly close to the original Albrechts. I sent them an email about purchasing some back in February. The responded promptly that they would send me a quote but never got back to me after that. I just sent them a follow up email. I'll let you know if I find anything out.
