The issue with increasing tourism and travel, is that this brings increasing levels of wealthy tourists into countries, which leads to opportunities for people who look to unfairly benefit from these tourists.

There is a level of trust involved between a tourist and their guide, when booking itineraries and trips in advance, often from foreign countries, that their guide will deliver the said itinerary.

Sadly the reputation of a country can be tarnished by dishonest individuals who steal money from honest trustworthy tourists. I hope this doesn't affect too many more travellers to Costa Rica, as it is an amazing country, and the majority of the people I came across were friendly, welcoming and on the face of it, honourable people.

But not all of them, and my family sadly had their holiday ruined and savings lost by a liar and a thief.

Please contact me if you would like further details.
