Nat Geo WILD channel is 10 years old ~ "Look Nature in the Eye"
Greetings Collector's Corner:
Nat Geo WILD channel debuted on March 29, 2010. It was a partnership between National Geographic Ventures (the-then for-profit arm of N.G.S. and Fox Cable Networks). It started off with a portfolio of new original series, and blue-chip documentary offerings.
To 'celebrate' I am sharing an album of photos of a winter 2010 press kit, a box or promotional materials sent out to media outlets so they could peruse and promote/announce in their respective reviews. Press kit photo album here --->

It was a medium-sized, illustrated box, with numerous contents, as follows:
- Introduction letter to a media outlet,
- a 32-pg programme booklet featuring info. on the new channel, and a written preview about the TV shows that would air,
- a thick gate-fold portfolio with 1 dvd in it, with a Launch Trailer (screener) to watch,
- a literal Barrel Full of Monkeys toy to promote the show "Rebel Monkeys",
- an NGW-logo canvas bag with 7 dvd's (slim cases) featuring 7 of the shows...these contain entire episodes of each show along with a trailer
- a NGW-logo safari-type baseball cap, with short brim,
- a copy of the NG Books' "Rare" by Joel Sartore. It's a pre-cursor to his current "Photo Ark" books,
- a box w/ 30 animal wildlife postcards (15 images x 2 copies)

These Press Kits are quite an interesting addition to your collection. Do you have many more, besides Apollo 11 and Titanic? :-)

I forgot to mention, that Nat Geo Wild was already airing ( internationally), for 3 years. It started in Hong Kong in late 2006.
