While posting the Santa ads for Christmas (more to come) I was wondering if the active members here are leaving out a big area that draws many people to collecting the magazines. The advertisements. I enjoy the old car ads and electronics from the 60's and 70's. Most ads from the 20's are like works of art. Maybe we could start an Ad group. The Santa ads I'm posting are very, very popular. Many buy the Magazine for the back page ad only and trash the rest of the magazine...

I too enjoy perusing the ads in the old issues, especially the 100 year old ones I read regularly. Although I like them all, I think my favorite ones are for Campbell's Soup. I grew up with that soup as a regular lunchtime meal and even remember eating their Snapping Turtle soup when I was older. It was made with cooking sherry. That being said, the February 1916 issue I just read and reviewed had this ad:
I wonder what other soups they produced back in the day.
