Dec 1976 NGM printing anomoly/error?

Does anyone know of a printing error or variance with regards to the December 1976 issue of NGM? I found an old note I wrote down on paper, with the comment "there is a 'colors' variant on page 858".

I have no idea what I was referring to! If anyone knows anything, let me know.

My Australia is a pale blue-green with the Perth area having red hashing - just like yours.

No other colors on the page.  Unless you were referring to the page itself, like white/cream???

I checked 3 copies and they look the same as yours - I noticed a different colour between the left and right side of the page (dividing the heading/map on the left and the text on the right) but it seems like there is a line dividing yours as well.

okay, haha. Well, clearly I had something in mind when I wrote the note, but that's what happens when the note sits for a few years.....you forget. I should have followed up on this when it was fresh in my mind!
