National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

A elderly friend just inherited a relative's estate. She has three large priority mail boxes full of new NG maps. Most of them are from the '70's (of the ones I have looked at). She doesn't know how to use a computer, so she asked me to help her sell things. How do I value them and where can they be sold? Ebay and Craig's list, I know, but have no idea how to price them. Are there collector sites or vendors who might want the whole lot of them? Help.

Dylan, I will go down to $80.
I still don't think so. I would settle for 50 plus shipping but I feel that if you hold out you can probably get more.
Thanks for your interest. It will cost approximately $21 for shipping, insurance and delivery confirmation and that is for media mail, so I don't think I would get enough for my friend. I'll take $50 plus actual shipping costs and am willing to take Paypal which takes off another 3% of what I can give her. I wouldn't feel right about going any lower since it isn't actually my stuff.
$10 per 5 years is what they are valued from past years in my opinion, its up to the buyer if they wish to have a full set or for school research.
Karol, I assume you have already disposed of them, but if not I can go $100 ppd.
