My family has collected Nat Geo's since 1917. I grew up with them, and I am curious about sharing with others about them
Favorite National Geographic publication:
February, 1917, Vol XXX1, No. 2
"Our Foreign-Born Citizens"
This story is a photo-documentary of Ellis Island, and all the people from all different cultures coming to America in 1917, all in their native dress...amazing!
When the February 1917 issue was published, Bell was on the Society's Board of Managers -and- on the editorial board as a Contributing Editor. I am surprised that the article has a byline, and is not just an editorial.
David Brannon
...That author of that second story...his name seems familiar?

Alexander Graham Bell was the inventor of the telephone, among many other things. He was also the 2nd President of the National Geographic Society!
