This story is a photo-documentary of Ellis Island, and all the people from all different cultures coming to America in 1917, all in their native dress...amazing! - Favorite travel destination: (If none, make no entry):

Scott T. Shier
Alexander Graham Bell was the inventor of the telephone, among many other things. He was also the 2nd President of the National Geographic Society!

When the February 1917 issue was published, Bell was on the Society's Board of Managers -and- on the editorial board as a Contributing Editor. I am surprised that the article has a byline, and is not just an editorial.
