National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

Hello everyone.

just wanted to ask if anyone knows of a good system of removing rust from the staples of indexes, or should I just let them be and not do anything. Removing them, treating them, and then putting them back would be ok?

Thank you

Maintaining "originality" is always the preferred solution to collecting.

But if you must, here's a "comic book repair" guide (including a discussion of rusty staples):
