Hubble and his colleagues at Palomar with a 8" f/1.0 Schmidt

Picture released in the NG February 1952 issue. It shows a 8" Schmidt telescope with from left to right Drs Lee A. DuBridge, president of Caltech, astronomer and cosmologist Edwin Hubble and I.S. Bowen, director of Palomar and Mt Wilson observatories.
The scope is the same as the one released in "Telescopes for Skygazing" (3rd edition) by Henry Paul. On page 94 there is a photo of Russell Porter with this telescope. It isa f/1.0 Schmidt camera, one of the fastest ever built

thanks for the share! Edwin Hubble and the telescope are especially a fave of mine.
