National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

The Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy library in La Canada CA has a collection of national geographics from 1914-1997 that we must remove from our collection. Although we are considering giving 1951-1997 to local elementary schools (since they are in color), our 1914-1950 collection is bound by year and has been kept in a dark closet in our facility for nearly half a century. I think they are in decent condition, but I am not a collector. They are dusty and have not been properly preserved. They were part of the school's original library collection and may have even belonged to the Flintridge Hotel before we converted to a high school in 1930. For more information, please contact me at jfinley@fsha.org or our librarian Erin Maloney at emaloney@fsha.org. You may also call us at 626-685-8304. We need to remove these books from our facility before September 30th, 2009.

how would you ship these?
I'm open to how we would ship them. We would need the interested party to cover the cost. We have found a local person willing to take most of the books off our hands so unless someone is willing to buy them and pay for shipping, I think they've found a home.
how much would it cost?
i am running a NGO in india, i will be glad if you can provide me the list of national geographic magazines you have, so i can tell you which all issues i wiil be requiring or i can take the complete issues.

kindly do reply me promptly

Regards

Robin
Do you still have the bound editions? are they blue cloth bindings with gold letters? If so I would be interested and I am local. Thanks Lance
