this sub-group can cover all aspects of the Society's "Book Division" which was formed in 1990 upon a significant re-organization of what had been Book Service, and, Special Publications.   For a long while, the book titles released 1990 forwards still seemed to be the separate running series types, but as the 2000's progressed, and the qty. of book titles released exploded, the distinctions (and quality) broke down. Once upon a time, the Society did not have a formal or structured book department or staff (hard to believe now!) ... ...in the early years there were 'accidental' books, either by chance or favor. Some various monographs and myriad scientific reports made their way to publication with hard covers. This group is intended to share knowledge of / awareness of, some seldom seen "reprint", or "offprint", articles that originally appeared in the published magazine. The vast majority of these items were generated by the Society on special request by non-profit organizations, government agencies, and other higher profile entities (authors, significant contributors). Print runs of each varied widely, from a few dozen to thousands of copies. Some bear the personalization of the author.See More
