Cook Islands $1.00 Silver Jubilee Stamp. Photograph by Bill Johnson

Bill Johnson officially photographed the Knighthood ceremony and took this photograph which was used on the Cook Islands Silver Jubilee Stamp. Albert Royal Henry was appointed a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1974 by H.M. Queen Elizabeth II. However, the knighthood was later revoked 1979 and Sir Albert was found guilty of electoral fraud and is stripped of his knighthood. After this Albert Henry's health took a turn for the worse after the 'electoral scandal' that had cost him his job, his knighthood and much of his reputation. Albert Henry died on 1 January 1981 at the aged 73.

Mr Lange ex New Zealand Prime Minister came to Rarotonga after Albert's death to meet with the Henry family. Mr Lange stated that he contacted 'The Palace' and was told, that they (the palace) were surprised that Albert Henry was found guilty and stripped of his knighthood, when Finbar Kenny pleaded guilty in court that 'he gave' the money for the plane charter. When it came time to pay for the plane charter, the cheque that was given to Albert Henry was a Philatelic Bureau cheque made out to Albert Henry. Albert Henry’s case was a “frame-up”.

A few years later, Mr Lange was told that Her Majesty The Queen, stated that if Sir Albert Henry was still alive today, she would 're-instate his knighthood'. Statement made by Tupui Ariki Henry Cook Islands News Letter to the Editor 11th August 2010.
I would like to add:- I was at the main gates of Buckingham Palace when Princess Elizabeth II and Prince Philip were on their way to the Coronation in the Royal Coach in June 1953 and I did get a very good look at the two of them. But who would ever have known at the time... twenty-one years later, that I would be in the same room with The Queen photographing Her Majesty presenting a KBE Knighthood a Prime Minister.

Yes, I agree with you and I would be one of them too. I really liked the ole man... as we use to call him (behind his back ha,ha). The day I presented him with the photo of his Knighthood by the Queen (the dubbing photo) he had tears in his eyes and looked at me and 'Thank you so very much Bill'. Come and eat with momma and me on the main guest table, because I want to talk with you about that day. I was at Government House and all the MP's and VIP's were there also.
