5th South Pacific Forum Rarotonga, Cook Islands during the 20-22 March 1974

Bill Johnson Official South Pacific Forum Photographer (2nd right) with South Pacific Prime Minister's L-R:- Mata'afa Mulinu'u II, Prime Minister of Western Samoa (1973–1975); obscured only his feet showing is Hammer DeRoburt, President of Nauru (1968–1976); Australian Senator (?) standing in for Gough Whitlam, Prime Minister of Australia (1972–1975); Ratu Sir Kamisese Mara, Prime Minister of Fiji (1967–1987); Norman Kirk, Prime Minister of New Zealand (1972–1974) who later that year 1974 passed away; Michael Somare, Chief Minister of Papua and New Guinea (1972–1980); Sir Albert Henry, Prime Minister of the Cook Islands (1965–1978); Bill Johnson and Robert Rex, Premier of Niue (1974–1992).
Missing from the photograph is Tongan Prime Minister - Prince Fatafehi Tu'ipelehake. Of these great South Pacific Leaders, sadly only former Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare from Papua New Guinea is still alive today.
Two months earlier Bill had the privilege of being the Official Cook Islands Government Royal Tour Photographer for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips and Bill was the Official Photographer for the Knighthood of Sir Albert Henry KBE which was bestowed to Sir Albert by Queen Elizabeth II in Rarotonga on January 28th 1974.
