Growing up with National Geographic Magazine, from father's dark room to NGM.Com "My Shot", I have never been without my camera. I have a deep love of history and the research and preservation of images and artifacts. Nature's images draw me with a deep desire to capture them - reliving the magic of the moment of sighting to share with all who might see.
A recent photograph of mine was featured in a National Geographic video feature: "Flowers and Friends" - "My Shot Minute".
I received your question re photos by Harry C. Mann. He is not in our index, but we do have one file on microfiche for him. The Geographic purchased 6 photos from him for a story entitled, "Warfare on Our Eastern Coast," published in Sept. 1915.
Mann was also paid for battleship pictures taken on July 4, 1917, and were to be used in "Our Flag Number," which was published in October of that year. I'll take a look and see if the photos did make it into that issue. There is an interesting piece of correspondence that I printed--if you'd like me to mail it to you please send me a snail mail address.
