National Geographic's Collectors Corner
Thank you and farewell from Cathy
Dear members of Collectors Corner,
Almost 20 years ago, National Geographic Society archival staff created a discussion forum for collectors of the magazine and other National Geographic publications to connect and share information. Over time, this became the Collectors Corner community on this website. Many members have passed through briefly, but there are several of you who have been actively involved for years, sharing your expertise with others and posting photos of treasured collections. We deeply appreciate your dedication to the Society and its mission.
In order to focus on other priorities across the Society, we have transferred administrative ownership of the Collectors Corner platform to lifetime member Richard Kennedy. This space will continue to be available to all of you to connect with each other.
For those interested in directly engaging with the National Geographic Society, please visit us online or in person at the new Museum of Exploration, opening in Washington, DC in 2026.

As a collector, I am very distressed with the direction that the National Geographic Society is taking.
I believe that certain things should not become mere vehicles of wealth production to a few people, intead of fulfiling their original mission of educationg and spreading knowledge.
Hopefully NGM and the society will be restored to their former glory.
