National Geographic "Traveler" discontinued {1984 - 2020}

Greetings,

A little late with this, but the U.S. edition of Traveler ceased with the Dec 2019/2020 issue. The magazine ran for 35+ years, commencing with the Spring 1984 issue.

Traveler is still being published overseas in 17 foreign-language editions. Here's an article about the matter, and note that it indicates NGM will start featuring Traveler content!

I will be posting all the covers of Traveler (240 issues) here on the 'Corner, soon. *Debuting in Spring, 1984, Traveler magazine was intended as an educational travel resource, "all travel, all the time".

Won't be long before the NGM ceases paper copy!

Don't say that !    : - (

Not a good sign, but another collectable (Playboy) has ceased printing and is going to all electronic publication.

Would anyone here be bold enough to predict when this may happen? 1-2 years? 5? 10? I wonder if Covid-19 is accelerating this?

I imagine it would lead to cost savings (printing cost, distribution) but I wonder how many people would unsubscribe if its digital only (and hence reducing revenue stream and offsetting cost savings?

Perhaps all the newer readers now are tech savy and mostly reading their copies online?
