National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

Well, here are a few more National Geographic books I'd like to sell:  The Book of Dogs 1958, 1st ed.; The National Geographic Society--U.S. Army Air Corps Stratosphere Flight of 1935 in the Balloo "Explorer II", 1936; Common Birds of Town and Country, 1914; Scenes from Every Land, Third Series, by Gilbert H. Grosvenor, 1912; Our Threatened Inheritance: Natural Treasures of the United States, 1984 Deluxe Ed.  Let me know if any of these interest you.  Still more to come, also.  Bob

Is the DJ on your Dogs book pretty nice or well-worn? Could use an 'upgrade' on that one, if possible, but not urgent.

I have two "Books of Dogs".  One is THE BOOK OF DOGS: An Intimate Study of Mankind's Best Friend, published by NG in 1919 in very fine condition, original brown cloth binding with black borders and lettering on front cover, Illustrated with 73 color portraits paintings from original paintings by Louis Agassiz Fuertes.  No DJ issued.  List price is $48.50 in VG to fine; our price is $27.50 U.S. Dollars, postpaid in U.S.

The other one, probably what you have, THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC BOOK OF DOGS, published in 1958, stated First Edition.  This book is fine; DJ good, as it is well scuffed with small tears.  The front DJ picture is bright.  Many more pages in this one--430 including index.  I am asking $22.50 U. S. Dollars for it, postpaid in  U.S.  Check or money order.  Robert Lutz, P. O. Box 23, Washington Court House, OH 43160.  I could mail you a color Xerox copy of the DJ if that would help.
