National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

I started saving National Geographics the year my son was born. He turned 50 last year. He doesn't want the National Geographics. How do I get rid of 50 years of National Geographics (missing a few issues). I also have a few in the 1940s.

How much?

I have no idea how much they are worth.

let me know what you think would be a fair price.  I'm very interested.

I will give them away for free. I just want to get rid of them. There may be a few missing issues, because I loaned 1 or 2 to my grandchildren.

The question is how you would get them. Helen

USPS has a box if it fits it ships.

One price.

just need to find out how many boxes you need.

It will take me a little while to gather everything together. I will go to the post office and get their largest box. I will let you know how many boxes it takes. I assume that you will pay for the postage.

It cost (in 2010) about $125 to ship 14 years worth of NG magazines via UPS.

The costs have gone up!

Your best bet would be to use "freight" shipping or media mail at the post office using book boxes.

Do "NOT" declare NG magazines - the post office will not ship them "due to advertising." It doesn't matter how old the magazines are. Simply declare "books."

Idk if I can right now
But yes that would be the plan I'll pay for shipping if you'll ship
I have been looking at alternative methods of shipping but I guess it really all comes down to how many you can fit in a box
