Buxbaum's Nat Geo collector guides (2nd & 3rd ones) . . .

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has any duplicate copies of Dr. Buxbaum's 2nd and/or 3rd books (e.g., 1956, 1962) that they have extra to sell or trade (I have an extra 1971 copy).

Of late have been wishing I had not sold off/gifted away his middle 2 editions - used to have them. I have found that I frequently want to compare changes  -subtle or not-- from one the next, and the evolution of his knowledge-sharing.

The middle 2 don't happen to come up on eBay much at all, and I feel a scoche impatient.

More than you asked for, but you'll find all four of Buxbaum's NG reference books scattered among the listings.

Good Hunting!

Ah, bookfinder, now that's something I never think of --or have used. I'll have to keep it in mind henceforth. Thanks Mel. Actually to both your replies I really only posted here to see if anyone at all might have something to make trade for. I don't ever do that really, but thought I'd give it a whirl.

Scott,

You might also want to try AbeBooks.com and type Buxbaum as author and National Geographic as title into its search engine.  You'll find 51 items currently comprised of all four versions.

Good hunting,

Tom

thanks Tom, I scouted out a few and saved at least one for the basket for later maybe. I love AbeBooks, been on there w/ account for some years now - don't remember how I originally found it. My only critique is most of the items lack pictures and not all the seller-merchants respond to queries for sample images. Plus it's tedious to have to request pictures on 10 of the same thing just to figure out which one I want.

On the flip side of that, it's usually (tends to be) a more predictable bet that you get a book condition precisely in-line w/ their description; whereas eBay sellers on-whole are very sloppy and wide open on their notions of "Very Good" or "Like new". hah!
