Hey George.  I struggle with technology, so I hope this message reaches you.  The 1888-1907 reprint set I have is hard bound.  My phone number is 425-750-0522 if you have any more questions.  Thanks for responding.  Mike

Those reprints are still available. I am a total novice on what to ask for them. Guess I'll have to do some research. Perhaps you might tell me what a "fair" price might be?

George- check out http://events.nationalgeographic.com/events/special-events/ to see what is happening at headquarters. In any event, Catonsville isn't that far- I'm out that way every once in a while on my way to downtown Baltimore. Come over for a visit- send an e-mail to jdl@copper.net and we'll figure out a time.

LOVE the background image you've updated with !! It's a beautiful sight, and I wish I had a 'mattress' of Geos to lay upon, lol.

Thanks Tom.  I will take a closer look at eBay and see what I can find in my price range to supplement my missing issues.

Thank you Mr.Wilson. Though I have been collecting NG magazines for a few years now, I am new to the maps collection. So far my love for NG Mags and maps in general have been exclusive. I will definitely check out this group.

Hi Tom,

My name is Jeff Persons and I was reading your post regarding the 1988 maps of the world with and without the Supplement line.  I was wondering if the one without the line was folded or flat.  The ones that I have that are flat (purchased from the Society) do not have the line.  I am not sure how to contact you as I am just learning how to navigate the site.  I have been collecting for over 50 years and have a very large collection of everything related to NG.

Regards,

Jeff

Tom,  Yes he does have it listed as a "detachable map"- pages 93-98.  He also states that a pocket version of this map was available at Explorers Hall.

He also mentions the July 1989 double map error of France and Historical France where the first copies did not include Ireland in the Irish Sea.  These copies were sent to the Canadian addresses and the Pacific addresses before the mistake was discovered.

Also another aside is the February 1991 supplement Middle East/Studies in Turmoil.  There were 50,000 copies donated to the Armed Forces of the US with a note indicating this on the lower left-hand corner of the map.

And lastly the Map 1994 Alaska Political/Pictorial was also printed in March 1994 for the book Alaska's Wildlife Treasures

I hope this helps; have a great day!

Tom,  I have a number of different cover magazines.  Would you lie me to forward them to you to add to your list?  3 to 4 are unique, but most contain the error like yours.  Also, I have a number of magazines that have stickers placed on the magazine cover, ie. 2 Billionth magazine printed by NGS, one about the dinosaur Sue from the Field museum in Chicago, one from Williamsburg with a sleeve that the magazine fits into etc.  Please let me know.
