My father collected magazines for many years and has since passed. My brothers and I are in the process of helping my mother move into a retirement community and she has decided to let the collection go. There are many magazines into the teens, some earlier reprints, and -- I believe -- complete years from the 20's on. We are looking to learn what value these magazines may have for collectors, how to summarize the collection to make available to sell and so on. Can anyone give some advice on how to proceed or direct me to appropriate resources?
The following link was set up by Melvin DeVilbiss of this site to give people with large collections an idea of how to sell or get rid of them in a satisfactory manner :http://reviews.ebay.com/A-Guide-to-Selling-National-Geographic-Maga.... I hope this is of some help and good luck in your efforts,
Phil
Here's the link to the same information on this web site which includes the "estate sales" section borrowed from Dale Murphy. The format is also better arranged with a bit more detail than the eBay link:

You might also wish to look at the "dealers directory" link on the upper left margin of the main page to the collector's corner. Inquire with dealers after you read the selling guide to find out from the "businessmen" what they would be willing to do to assist you.
Good Luck!
Mel
