Great find George. I love old NG maps and this is a good one I haven't seen. Did Philip catalog the maps within the pages of the issues? Thanks! Bill Heisel
William,
Phil didn't so much catalog these sketch maps, just posted them here at the 'Corner. He had already posted photos of all the supplements and covers, and was working on these sketch maps when he died. I think he was up to the mid-1950s when he stopped. I use his photos in my articles and always give him credit for them.
I go by Tom, by the way.
Wow! I found it. That is so cool! What a treasure trove for a NG map lover. Of course they are available on the NG archive site but the best thing about NG (in my opinion) are the maps. And seeing those 4000 plus map images in one collection is like having a bunch of muffin tops without having to eat the rest of the muffin!
And so that makes your discovery of the lost Lake Superior map all the better, Tom! Wow, Wow!
And I also see that you have taken the torch from Phil by adding images of the NG supplements. And I found your compilation of links to the images of maps and pictorial supplements. Wow, Wow, Wow! Thanks a million for doing that. Bill
