National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

My wonderful father collected the yellow framed tome since before I was born, and that was a long time ago. I still have the Metal printed moon model.

sadly at 82 my father has passed and as I go through his collections if Time and national Geographic, was wanting to know what do collectors seek. Obviously early issues but how early and what extras would they seek so I’m not wasting their time with thousands of issues not wanted.

His collection is in Tasmania, so a long way for many.

hope you may be able to provide advice or direct me to a prior discussion or list of what is being sought. Always great to fulfil someone’s collection.

many thanks

Hi Sara,

Welcome to the collectors corner! Melvin has written an excellent guide: http://ngscollectors.ning.com/forum/topics/a-guide-to-selling-natio...hopefully you have a better idea of the next step once you have a read of that.

Seeing as you are from Tasmania there may be a few Aussies that would be interested in the collection (postage is quite expensive but depending on which issues you have it may be worth for some collectors. Do you know which issues are in the collection?

Kind regards,

Pece

Wonderful! Thank you Pece

I do need to go through them all first to sort and order, and there are a lot in many stored places, so will have a read of the above link and happily post anything here that may stand out as a collectors possible want.

Many thanks for your help

I would be interested in most everything your late father had except for the National Geographic Magazine. Please contact me directly at natgeo(at)whovian.name with details. Thank you.
