National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

I am sad to announce the passing of Jeffry Persons last Friday.

Jeffry had been a long term member of this forum and was known for having one of the largest and most complete collections of all things National Geographic. I have frequently relied on his knowledge for my research.

His daughter, Lisa, has authorized me to make this announcement and has asked my assistance in the disposition of Jeffry's collection.

To tell you the truth - his collection was so massive I'm not certain where to begin.

If interested please reach out to me for private discussions so we might begin the process.

Regards to all!

So sorry to hear the Jeff has passed away.  I dealt with him for years.  Terrific person.

Melvin, contact me at charlesegannon@gmail.com to discuss what I have interest in.

Thanks

This is sad news indeed.  Jeff was a fountain of knowledge and much help to me in my collecting.  He will be missed.

Mel,

Please express my condolences to Lisa and the rest of Mel's family upon his passing. Please contact me at natgeo@whovian.name to discuss what from his collection will be available. Thank you.

Richard

Follow-up:

I am just beginning to discuss things with Lisa - still a little soon for making big decisions.

I have discovered that most everything Jeff had was put into storage in California. Item lists and conditions are not immediately available. Lisa is in New York.

We will proceed from here, one-step-at-a-time...got a long way to go...

Mel

P.S. I will keep a list of all those who have made contact with me for future discussion

Mel,

If help is needed I can travel from Washington State to California.

Richard,

Thank you!

I've passed along some information to Lisa for review and asked that she take some time to absorb the details. I will offer your services when we have our telephone conversation in the next few days to discuss strategy.

You were one of the people I recommended she make contact with when she first approached me many months ago.

Regards,

Mel

I am very sorry to hear this. Though I was friends with Jeffry here on the 'Corner, I never got to know him as much as I would have liked. My last few messages to him went unanswered, and now I know why. I really appreciated his enthusiasm & interest in National Geographic Collecting.

Thank-you Mel for passing along this news and for assisting his daughter Lisa, at this difficult time.

Rest In Peace
