National Geographic's Collectors Corner

Collaborative site for collectors, dealers, & anyone interested in our history.

  • I want to post this because it's true. National Geographic magazines appear to be worthless because people to not value artwork, photography, and education of the world. It amazes me, before internet, the world news was encompassed in these magazines including world events to what we call "Google Maps", today and I believe it will take time for the generations of new age technology and media news to appreciate the old way. The numbers of magaizines produced were around 5,000,000 per copy? Agreed? A lot of magazines were sent out. Since growing up I have seen the National Geographic magazine in places such as, barber shops, tan salons, doctors' offices, etc... Being used a coaster for beverages. These magazines have been shown no appreciation. Therefore; in my conclusion, if you have high end magazines that are on pristine condition, PRESERVE THEM!! These books have been damaged over the years, sold and shipped across ebay due to the beginning of internet connection. The National Geographic Company has withstood tough times like the Great Depression, the internet saga...They are still here. It is MONUMENTAL what they have done for so long. Yet people rid them, storage space, etc... No appreciation. So! To you Nat Geo nerds like me, pick your favorites and fand them while they are cheap! Thank you.
