Maps are one thing, but seeing all the other peripheral items out there, wow. I want it all but really have to be picky as to what additional "collections" I can afford (and have room for).

Nick was a great help to me in getting those early Volume Indexes. I got several Map Indexes and a few other items from John.

So Mel have you communicated with seller about anything regarding this set?

I'd love to know what method or whatnot he employed to achieve the font (category) titling on the cases....

It is, Tom.

Someone devoted a lot of time putting this together.

It's another, very nice, way of collecting "something" about the NGM production that is uniquely different than any way I've seen fit to collect.

I even considered trying to obtain this - but then, it is not complete (as by the seller's own description) and I visualize maps that might fit into more than one category (requiring duplicate purchases), etc., etc.

Not sure I want to devote the time and energy to complete this "form" of collection, as nice as it is.

******

Kind of a different, but similar thought:

This really makes me wonder about those who came before us that collected "everything" under the sun NGM, catalogued it and wrote a book (or created a web site) about it.

Buxbaum, Nathan, Smith to name a few book writers and someone like John Carey (http://www.jbcarey.net/ ) and his detailed listings on his web site (that I use for research).

And also dealers like Nick Koopman with 34,000 items in his inventory - wow!

How did/do they ever do it?

Mel
Impressive collection, Mel.tag:ngscollectors.ning.com,2017-05-27:1029239:Comment:1393322017-05-27T03:20:08.196ZGeorge Thomas Wilsonhttp://ngscollectors.ning.com/profile/GeorgeThomasWilson
