<p>In reading some old issues of NG, I found in the February 1952 issue page 249 an intriguing and rare picture showing not only some famous people (Hubble, DuBridge and Bowen) but also a 8" Schmidt telescope.</p>
<p>This unidentified scope is the same as the one shown in <i>Telescopes for Skygazing</i> (3rd edition) by Henry Paul page 94. It is a Russell Porter f/1.0 Schmidt camera, one of the fastest ever built.</p>
